Digital Health Technology Leaders are Already Connecting Data Sources and Access Experiences Across Payers and Providers
BOSTON, MA – April 1, 2021 – Kyruus, the leader in provider search and scheduling solutions for health systems, today announced the completion of its acquisition of HealthSparq, a trailblazing healthcare guidance and transparency technology company serving health plans. With the transaction finalized, the combined entity now serves 70 health systems and 100 health plan brands across the United States.
“Kyruus and HealthSparq share a common mission to help people make better healthcare decisions and we’re already seeing how we can actualize that faster together,” said Mark Menton, who will now serve as General Manager, HealthSparq, overseeing the new health plan business unit at the company. “I’m excited for what lies ahead as we combine efforts to dismantle silos and help people find the right care for their unique needs.”
The creation of a platform bridging health systems and health plans comes at a time when digital is emerging as the preferred channel for people seeking care. Research shows that health system and health plan websites are among the top three sources people use to find providers online – and more than 40% of healthcare consumers want to book online once they’ve found a provider aligned with their needs. By combining, Kyruus and HealthSparq are enabling unprecedented connectivity between these traditionally disparate access channels and the provider data sources that power them.
Scott Andrews, who joined Kyruus in 2017 and most recently served as the company’s Chief Customer Officer, will now serve as General Manager, Health Systems. Under his leadership, Kyruus’ new health system business unit will focus on expanding the company’s impact with hospitals and health systems, as well as furthering growth in the medical group segment.
“It’s clear that both health systems and health plans recognize the immense opportunity before us to work together to reduce the complexity that surrounds care navigation today,” said Graham Gardner, MD, CEO of Kyruus. “We wanted to be in a position to help lead that change and work with forward-looking organizations seeking to simplify care navigation. I’m thrilled to welcome the HealthSparq team to accelerate that journey.”
